Mission
I'm currently working with one of my clients specializing in transportation in North America. Located in the east end of Montreal, this company is looking for a warehouse manager.
Responsibilities :
-Operations-
-Responsible for the success of the warehousing operation including overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the team;
-Develop and implement changes to operational systems to improve the flow of customer service, order management and the shipping and receiving of customer products on time and in good condition;
-Establish and manage key performance indicators and other related metrics, providing timely analysis, reports and recommendations;
-Review inventory reports; customer order reports and other available documents and devise plans for current and future fluctuations in warehousing operations;
-Oversee the preparation of facility reports and prepare recommendations for procedural improvements and projects;
-Act as liaison between the General Manager and the Facility Operations team and keep each informed on policy procedural and performance/production issues;
-Manage ongoing relationships and interactions with customers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products and meet contractual agreements ;
-Responsible for warehouse safety programs to provide a safe and clean workplace for employees and in compliance with the regulations of all OSHA, local and state legislations ;
-In charge of negotiating brokerage rates with carriers and with customers, selecting the carrier and scheduling all brokers for the warehouse.
-Sales-
-Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity;
-Identify sales prospects and contact these and other accounts as assigned;
-Prepare sales presentations, proposals and contracts;
-Establish and maintain relationships with existing and potential customers;
-Identify and resolve customer problems;
-Prepare a variety of progress reports, including activity, closings, tracking and meeting targets;
-Coordinate company personnel to perform work required to close sales;
-Follow up on collection of payments;
-Coordinate shipping schedules and delivery of goods and services.
-Team Management-
-Motivate employees, encouraging optimal productivity;
-Assist, advise and expedite conflict resolution procedures;
-Ensure ongoing and planned employee evaluations, including salary considerations, promotions and job transfers;
-Participate in meetings to improve productivity, resolve customer service issues and manage team workload;
-Assist in the training of new employees within the department;
-Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with team members and other departments;
Additional Responsibilities:
- Performs other related work as required.
Your profile
Requirements :
-Bilingual (French/English)
-College diploma/bachelor's degree in business management with a concentration in operations management, material management or equivalent;
-Logistics management designation CITT or P. Log. Designation preferred;
-5 to 7 years distribution experience in a warehouse environment;
-2-3 years management experience;
-Knowledge of the shipping and transportation industry is preferred;
-Excellent knowledge of WMS & Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word);
PROCESS: Initial interview with Gabriel Lemoine, Fed Supply Recruitment Consultant - followed by an interview with the company's Human Resources Manager and Position Manager.
