I'm looking for an Assurance and Accounting Director for an accounting firm in Laval.

Your responsibilities:
Distribute files among department staff and distribute workload equitably;
Manage and follow up on mandates within the assurance team;
Support assurance staff with training/mentoring (accounting standards, internal standards, Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés, etc.);
Manage staff under his/her responsibility (performance appraisals, attendance, coaching, etc.);
Perform final review of financial information and statements, and answer questions related to their presentation;
Be responsible for following up on the deadlines to which the chargés de mission and senior chargés de mission are subject in their client files;
Coordinate the planning and review the execution of year-end mandates, including financial information (compilation engagements) and financial statements (review engagements) prepared by Account Executives and Senior Account Executives;
Review certain aspects of individual and corporate income tax returns prepared by Account Executives and Senior Account Executives;
Follow-up on dividends for tax forms (T5);
Responsible for special internal projects;
Participate in special mandates (acquisition or sale of a dental clinic, building purchase project, expansion project, etc.);
Respond to government requests for audits (personal income tax, corporate income tax and commodity taxes);
Meet with clients to submit their financial information or annual financial statements, depending on the type of assignment;
Review and analyze the company's statement of comprehensive income (SSD) on a monthly, quarterly or semi-annual basis, and follow up with the client;
Advise customers on financial and tax improvements;
Prepare and review invoices for customers under his/her responsibility;
Develop clientele and get involved in networking opportunities;
Analyze internal practices and processes and implement improvements required to increase organizational efficiency of the department and team (work tools, etc.);
Carry out any other related tasks required within the scope of his/her duties.

Your profile

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook and Word);
Knowledge of Caseware software (an essential asset);
Proficiency in Taxprep personal and corporate tax software;
Taxprep tax software for trusts (an asset);
Knowledge of standard accounting software such as Quickbook (QBO), Sage 50 (an asset);
Fluency in spoken and written French;

Hold the CPA professional designation.

Minimum 10 years' relevant experience.

Must be available to work additional hours to the normal work week, particularly from January to April;
Occasional travel to customer sites may be required.
